JOB SUMMARY

The Parking Attendant position coordinates and monitors parking within lots used by the San Francisco Symphony.  The Parking Attendant ensures the safe use of the parking facilities by authorized Symphony personnel while maintaining excellent customer service.  This position reports to the Head Parking Attendant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the safe use of the parking facilities by overseeing the parking space usage of Symphony staff, orchestra, usher staff, and chorus.
  • Ensuring Symphony parking facilities are used only by authorized personnel.
  • Troubleshooting any customer service issues.
  • Communicating any incidents, personnel, or customer service issues to the Head Parking Attendant in a timely manner.
  • Working with outside parking facility staff on parking logistics that may change daily

The position does not handle any cash or credit card transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional communications and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work outside during shift (Alternatively may use personal vehicle during shift.)
  • Must be willing to use personal cell phone in event of emergency.
  • Must be willing and prepared to work in all-weather gear and with safety equipment.
  • Must be able to work any shift (Weekday days or evenings, Weekend days or evenings, holidays.)
  • Must be willing to work outside, rain or shine.
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift if necessary..
  • Must be comfortable working in both open-air parking lot and open-air garage conditions, in all seasons.
  • Must be able to work within stressful situations, with a wide array of personality types.
