Description

The full-time Senior Designer/Visual Storyteller is responsible for creating and directing the brand identity development of materials for print, web, and multimedia. This position will work closely with the Creative Director, executive leadership, and clients, to develop the visual identities for the church and its ministries, events, and products.

Primary Duties:

·         Explore the story and style for major brands, campaigns, projects, and events

·         Create strategic designs for Saddleback teams and initiatives that are in accordance with the brand standards and guidelines

·         Develop and present creative solutions for clients and/or creative lead to determine scope and direction of project

·         Personal ideation and professional development to expand creative and technical abilities

·         Oversee development and design elements for custom creative assets and products

·         Establish creative parameters for use by staff and volunteers

·         Provide oversight to ensure art meets standards for Saddleback brand and marketing objectives

·         Create design manuals (Style Guide) for custom artwork

·         Continually work to maintain and elevate the visual identity of Saddleback Church

·         Assist in the recruiting and leadership of volunteers and interns

·         Other related duties, as needed

Experience & Qualifications:

·         Minimum of 5–7 years of experience required, including work as a lead designer

·         Must be proficient in Strategic Design within a creative process, GUI Design on web and mobile interface and client relations and presentation

·         Experience in motion graphics and photography is a plus

·         Professional knowledge of concept, layout, typography, color, and branding

·         Professional knowledge of Adobe CS

·         Strong knowledge in brand identity development

·         Ability to think conceptually and strategically, independently and as a group

·         General understanding of print production techniques including, printing, paper, and materials; ability to execute both design and production phases for all products

·         General understanding of UI and multimedia design

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills that can thrive in a fast-paced environment

·         Team player that is flexible and creative

·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of related experience preferred
