Combat Development Procurement Management Subject Matter Expert

Job Description: Provides advisory support to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) operations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary combat development and procurement management advisor to the Assistant Chief of Staff.

  • Identifies and incorporates identified deficiencies into the formal requirements processes in support of Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) operations.

  • Interface with USSOCOM and Marine Corps Capability Research, Development, Program Managers, and Executive Offices as well as representatives performing these functions with the National Mission Force (NMF).

  • Evaluates and recommends actions associated with MARSOC’s N2T transition process and facilitates MARSOC Theater collaboration and coordination with the NWF.

  • Participates in NMF requirements processes and identifies documents that can be leveraged to support MARSOC requirements in the development of material solutions already fielded to resolve operational deficiencies and capability gaps.

  • Reviews all SOF Enterprise acquisition and requirements documentation and ensures review by appropriate MARSOC personnel.

  • Interfaces across MARSOC, USSOCOM’s SOF AT&L, and USSOCOM J8 to ensure adequate funding is programmed and allocated for MARSOC’s participation in the combat evaluation (CV) and all N2T criteria is satisfied.

  • Develops, maintains, and updates a Combat Development Instruction.

  • Maintains the CV process, trains MARSOC leadership on the process, and as required, assists in establishing their internal processes.

  • Serves as the interface between G-81, G-83, and G-85 branches for all potential acquisitions and procurement of N2T equipment solutions.

  • Ensures adequate funding levels are addressed for sustainment in MARSOC’s Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development and submission and coordinates any potential changes.



  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Defense Acquisition University Program Management Level II, desired.
  • Prior military experience within the Special Operations community
  • Successive assignments within the Defense Acquisition community
