Lycopodium ADP (LADP) is an engineering and project management company offering studies, engineering and project implementation services in the mineral processing plant sector with an innovative and high quality ethos.

The company is growing rapidly from a low base after a recent period of low activity in the industry and is seeking dynamic managers able to lead this growth process. 

A suitable candidate to fill the position of Project Manager is required. Based in Cape Town and reporting to the Manager of Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the overall project delivery and its resource requirements to produce results in alignment with the Client’s, Company’s and Project’s requirements.

The Project Manager has direct reports including personnel from engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, commissioning and related disciplines.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of project controls (principally cost, schedule and contract administration) and candidates with such backgrounds looking for a move into project management are encouraged to apply.

Position Objectives:

  • Ensure the quality of output of the allocated project team, and that it is aligned with the needs of the project / study, the company objectives, the requirements of the client and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the management and technical competence of the project team in the delivery of the projects / studies is enhanced and developed to meet the requirements of the Clients and their projects in accordance with the contract.
  • Develop and maintain the various project specific procedures, work practices, plans and protocols to enable the project team to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the project control (reporting, costs, schedule, trends, change management) in terms of both direct and indirect costs in accordance with the contract and in-house procedures.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in various aspects of Project Management in the mineral processing industries.
  • Experience in mineral processing plants in diamonds, gold and copper would be advantageous
  • Must have recent EPC study management experience
  • Must have EPCM project delivery experience
