About the Position:

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a summer intern to work with our team of engineers, landscape architects, and scientists. The successful applicant will support the planning, design, and analysis of a range of natural resource, water resource and public infrastructure projects.  This position is located in Seattle; hours will vary depending upon workload. Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.


  • assisting in preparing engineering designs and bid packages

  • supporting field investigations

  • assist in preparing engineering calculations

  • report writing


  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, landscape architecture, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) and other computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience using Esri GIS mapping software and performing GIS analyses is a plus

  • Hand drafting and image manipulation using Photoshop or other graphical editing software is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to conduct field work in a variety of settings and conditions

  • Valid driver’s license
