About the Position:
We are seeking a mid- to senior-level water resources professional to join our team in Sacramento. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be project management and technical analysis in support of flood management, habitat restoration, and water resources projects. Responsibilities of the position will include project management, technical review/quality control, business development, and proposal development and writing.
Qualified candidates should have a BA/BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years’ experience; a Master’s degree and/or professional registration (e.g. P.E.) and a minimum of 4 years’ experience; or Ph.D. and a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Successful candidates will also have: three or more years of progressively responsible project management experience, including demonstrated success in preparing project deliverables and managing project schedules/budgets; excellent writing skills; the demonstrable ability to verbally communicate effectively with colleagues and clients; and the ability to work with a team.
Professional experience in California’s Central Valley is highly desirable. Training and/or experience in flood management, fluvial geomorphology, estuarine systems, CEQA/ NEPA compliance, and environmental regulatory permits, and business development are all desirable. This position will work primarily in California; however, ESA has projects throughout the West and beyond and some travel is required. Current eligibility to work in the US is required.
