About the Position:
ESA is currently seeking an Environmental Monitoring Manager to join our Biological Resources and Land Management group in Northern California. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic biologist and/or resource manager that can manage mid- to large-scale compliance monitoring efforts during construction. The right candidate would have direct, on-the-ground experience in environmental compliance monitoring for land development and large-scale infrastructure projects and programs. Preferred candidates should have excellent communication skills and experience working with client/owners, construction crews, and regulators. They should also have a strong working knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, and experience with compliance monitoring tracking systems and databases, field safety procedures, and scheduling tools.
Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 10 years relevant work experience required or a masters and 4 to 8 years. Experience with a private consulting firm is preferred; however, a combination of public and private sector experience is acceptable. Demonstrated and broad-based experience in the Northern California region and associated species and habitats is also desired. The candidate must have leadership capabilities, supervisory skills, and strong writing and communication skills. The position is in our Sacramento office but overnight travel to project sites would be required.
