Qualifications:  

  • High School Graduate
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate professional writing and verbal skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrate typing, math and computer skills
  • Prior experience with registration and scheduling preferred

Description We are looking for a hard worker with strong customer service and multi-tasking skills for a busy surgery center. Must have a great desire to provide patients and medical staff with the highest level of customer service. Must maintain a professional image in appearance as well as over the phone.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients, schedule surgical procedures, and any other activities associated with the front desk reception team.
  • Manage difficult or emotional patient situation in a professional manner.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to the needs of patients.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness when entering information in computer system.
  • Registers new patients by obtaining all pertinent billing and insurance information.
  • Schedules surgical procedures and enters dates and times into computer.
  • Collects co-payments at time of service, receives payment on accounts and reconciles daily cash reports.
  • Obtains signed statements from patient (i.e. HIPAA, Arbitration Agreements, Advanced Directives, etc.)
  • Attends meetings are required.
  • Determines insurance information (deductibles and co-insurance for procedures)
  • Creates patient charts for upcoming procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
