Qualifications: Must have a BS Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science and be registered (ASCP/NCA/BOR or comparable) or registry eligible. Capable of doing generalist laboratory testing in all areas of the clinical laboratory except Blood Bank and Microbiology. Must have strong phlebotomy skills as well as a working knowledge of clinical lab testing, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and compliance guidelines. Looking for a 1 year minimum commitment.
Description : Generalist technical lab work in areas of Chemistry, Hematology, Immunoassay, Coagulation and Urinalysis in a high complexity lab. Full-time float position with rotating shifts from 6:45AM - 8:30 PM Monday through Friday and occasional weekends at American Fork, Salem, and Provo Laboratory locations. Must be able to work independently, have strong troubleshooting skills and be a strong team player. Responsible for drawing blood, processing specimens and performing clinical testing accurately and competently. Must be able to organize workload effectively to complete daily work quickly with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. This position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment, problem solve, troubleshoot analyzers, multitask, show compassion while collecting specimens, and use discretion in reporting lab results. Job responsibilities include maintaining supplies and equipment, performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on all analyzers, and participating in proficiency testing, competency reviews, correlations, and comparison studies. Position also requires candidate to enter patients into the practice management system, draw blood and order testing in LIS. Candidates must be able to interact effectively with other employees and patients to form a strong team and adhere to lab and company policies. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
