Internet Brands is currently seeking a Lead Software Developer (CMS) to join our Travel vertical. We are looking for someone who will work closely with the Fodor’s Travel content operations team to develop new features and enhancements for our content management system (CMS), specifically Vasont and its related applications.  You will work with technology such as XML, desktop publishing, book production, web publishing, e-books and mobile apps. The majority of the systems are built on the .NET technology stack, however you will have the freedom to make changes and/or define a new architecture.You will collaborate frequently with internal tech, product and web teams at Internet Brands. You will guide and review the work of two offshore developers, be encouraged to take strong ownership of your work, and be given latitude for breaking ground on new ideas. 

This is a dynamic position that will be responsible for the operations of an existing CMS with opportunities to architect substantial new systems.  
- Design, estimate, and code new features. This is primarily a coding position.
- Architect new applications, and expand existing ones. 
- Collaborate on enterprise architecture with other teams at Internet Brands. 
- Participate in software design discussions. 
- Participate in sprint planning and other project management meetings. 
- Investigate and fix production issues. 
- Ensure all code that goes to production is of top quality. 
- Ensure existing applications are scaled to meet expected demand.
- Continuously improve the software infrastructure, such as the deployment process. 
- Perform code reviews of your team members’ work. 
- Mentor junior engineers. 
- Define, document, and enforce engineering standards.

Required Experience:
- BS/MS from a 4 year college.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with object-oriented programming (Java, PHP, .NET).
- Complex SQL queries and database schema design.
- Experience with modern server components (Memcache, Redis, ActiveMQ, Solr).
- Working in a collaborative team environment using tools like JIRA and Git.
- Stable work history and an ability to collaborate effectively.

Desired Experience:
- MS in Computer Science.
- Familiarity with web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Knowledge of PHP and/or LAMP.
- Consuming and creating web services.
- Experience with/knowledge of XSLT scripts.
- Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies.
- Collaborating with engineering teams in multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of common Git workflows.
