Following the 2012-2013 MENA Regional Presence Review, CARE committed itself to building a common and consistent identity across the MENA region that is aligned with CARE’s global vision. CARE’s mission in MENA is: “By 2020, CARE will have significantly contributed to promoting women’s empowerment and supported people affected by humanitarian crisis in the Middle East and North Africa region.” CARE’s MENA Regional Strategy 2015-2020 provides direction for contributing to this social and gender justice mission by accelerating its work in the areas of combating gender-based violence, promoting women and youth’s economic empowerment and responding to humanitarian crises. This Regional Strategy has five strategic objectives including multiplying program impact, resource mobilization, transforming organizational presence models; leadership, people and culture; and organizational effectiveness through strengthening systems.
CARE is seeking a Director for Regional Impact and Change Management who will steer the successful operationalization of the CARE MENA Regional Strategy with a focus on guiding CARE’s social and gender justice work in the region and effective implementation of other related transformative initiatives, particularly through approaches that focus on resilience building and linking humanitarian and longer term development work. The post-holder will be responsible for directing the development of regional impact growth strategies to ensure CARE’s continued relevance as an authentic contributor to social and gender justice, guiding the strategic alignment of Country Offices to the MENA Social & Gender Justice Framework 2015-2030, directing the development of gender justice strategies for Country Offices and developing staff capabilities. Achieving these objectives implies change management and the post-holder will be required to provide thought leadership, build commitment across diverse teams and lead with vision and values to motivate action.
