Tobacco-free Hiring Practice

To foster a healthier workplace, as well as to demonstrate to our patients and the community our strong commitment to health and wellness, effective January 1, 2014, Memorial will hire only tobacco free employees.  Candidates will be screened for nicotine before they are hired.  Applicants who declare use or screen positive may reapply for a position after they have been tobacco/nicotine-free for 90 days.

Flu Vaccine

Memorial has implemented a mandatory influenza (flu) vaccination policy for all new hires.  This policy aligns us with other healthcare facilities locally and accross the country that already require flu vaccinations.  New hires with legitimate medical or religious reasons will be excused from the vaccination policy but must wear a mask during patient care activities or when working with others.  Vaccinations are free to all new hires.  New hires may be vaccinated at an off-site location at their own cost but must provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
