Description

For over twenty-five years, International Studies Abroad (ISA) (a division of WorldStrides) has provided college students in the United States and Canada the opportunity to explore the world.

ISA offers a wide variety of study abroad programs at accredited schools and universities in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, The Netherlands, and Vietnam.

About the Position:

The Site Specialist will organize and maintain all academic, housing, and visa information for their designated site(s). In addition, the Site Specialist plays an extensive role in marketing efforts and is responsible for updating program details through different online and print interfaces. The Site Specialist should be comfortable fielding inquiries from students, parents, and university contacts via phone and/or email and should inspire confidence in ISA’s ability to professionally and comprehensively support the student through the pre-departure process.

Required Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills, including follow-though and attention to detail

- Proficiency in Spanish
- Strong oral and written communication skills and comfort communicating with culturally diverse individuals
- Dedication to the provision of excellent customer service
- Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize multiple tasks and a heavy volume of work at once

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Minimum four months of experience studying, living, or working in Spain (ideally Barcelona)

- Minimum two years of relevant professional experience

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

- Carrying out efforts to increase enrollment numbers for your designated sites;

- Consistently maintaining, reviewing, correcting, and modifying all information on ISA website and keeping documents relevant for assigned sites;

- Communicating and liaising frequently with on-site staff to ensure all information is up to date, clear, and accurate;

- Staying abreast of all details regarding any problems or potential problems for ISA students at designated sites;

- Completing pre-departure and post program evaluations for management review. Constantly monitoring and evaluating programs at designated sites and addressing issues as needed;

- Preparing pre-departure orientation resources for students who will participate in ISA programs at designated sites;

- Assisting in Spanish visa service efforts (applying for visas on behalf of students);

- Becoming familiar with other organization’s programs at designated sites;

- Becoming an expert on designated sites and continuing to learn about sites as much as possible with the passing of time;

- Becoming a resource and helpful guide on the student visa processes for designated sites;

- Coordinating student housing assignments in conjunction with resident staff;

- Assisting and advising students on academics and course registration processes;

- Advising students and others on program details as they pertain to designated sites;

- Implementing strategic marketing efforts. Examples include populating catalog content and promotional materials, maintaining social media outlets, writing blog posts, hosting webinars, developing targeted email campaigns, and more;

- Working with all other departments and ISA divisions on various projects related to assigned sites;

- Assisting ISA in general advising and other projects as necessary, such as:

- Assisting in answering phone calls and emails

- Assisting walk in traffic at the ISA office

- Traveling domestically (on a limited basis) for assisting in ISA recruiting and   orientation efforts

- Handling additional administrative duties and special projects, to be assigned, as needed
