Position: WASH Program Manager (Surge Roster/Interim)

About Surge Roster/Interim Positions at RI:  We are currently accepting applications for Surge Roster/Interim WASH PM positions for short-term assignments (varying from weeks to months) to manage periods of transitions within Relief International or when an emergency occurs.

Position Summary:

The WASH Program Manager is responsible for overall planning, design, management, evaluation and reporting of WASH programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  •          Provide leadership, technical support and strategic direction to WASH programming;
  •          Assess WASH needs, design solutions, monitor progresses, and inform proposal development and reporting activities;
  •          Serve as the primary point of contact with regard to day-to-day implementation and management of WASH interventions;
  •          Ensure achievement of project objectives within the planned timeframe and budget;‚Äč
  •          Ensure quality;
  •          Engage stakeholders and manage expectations;
  •          Oversee and manage WASH program staff and support professional development;
  •          Oversee and build capacity of RI’s teaming partners ;
  •          Make recommendations for course correction if necessary;
  •          Maintain effective communication with donors and other organizations operating in country, for coordination and partnership opportunities;
  •          Participate in NGO sector coordination groups and identify areas for coordination and collaboration;
  •          Maintain effective communication with RI’s GSO regarding program implementation;
  •          Actively contribute to RI’s WASH Community or Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or Bachelor’s degree with commensurate work experience;
  • Minimum of five years professional experience in lead management implementing WASH emergency response programs;
  • Solid background and knowledge of the Humanitarian System;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills required;
  • Strong English skills required; Arabic is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks in a challenging environment;
  • Excellent technical skills with strong attention to detail;
