Summary of Position:

The Accountant / Administrative Support is primarily (85%) responsible for performing various accounting department duties to support the financial operations of OBE and to provide administrative support (15%) for the smooth operation of the office's administrative functions. Our project- based work generates a high volume of accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable transactions. This person would assist our Accounting and Finance Managers in processing these transactions.

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Perform full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties
  • Expense reports review and finalizing
  • Account analysis and review of expenditures against project budgets
  • Other accounting and finance duties as needed
  • Be cross-trained on certain duties of the Accounting Manager
  • Provide administrative support to maintain the office in proper order, including maintaining the kitchen in proper order and keeping adequate stock of foodstuff and refreshments
  • Provide catering or procure refreshments as requested for special occasions and office events
  • Ensure office appearance is well maintained and orderly and all office equipment is working properly
  • Provide assistance to Human Resources for new employee orientation

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

 

•   Associates Degree in Accounting, or Bachelors Degree in another field

 

Experience:

 

•  2-3 years of experience in accounting 

•  Administrative support experience, preferably in an agency environment

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

•   QuickBooks, preferably Enterprise Solutions version

•   Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills

•   Experience with payroll systems a plus

•   Working with budgets

•   Expense Reporting

•   Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
