Architect, SaaS Platform Deployment

As the Architect of Kinaxis’ SaaS Platform Deployment, you will act as a technical expert to design and implement the solutions required to support Kinaxis SaaS solution deployment and the software component to develop a SaaS orchestration suite. You will be responsible to provide mentorship to other technical resources and assist the management team in establishing learning and development plans. The successful candidate should have the ability to research, design and implement hardware, software and cloud based solutions. In addition, Java software development proficiency is essential to the position.

The Architect, SaaS Platform Deployment design considerations includes architecture, implementation, scale out operational planning, solutions availability, application of security policies and governance framework. Finally, this position requires participation in occasional on-call shifts and to travel from time to time.

What You’ll Do

  • Act a technical expert within the SaaS Operations Group.
  • Train and mentor SaaS and R&D team members on new technologies introduced.
  • Guide Kinaxis' SaaS leadership through major technological changes.
  • Take ownership of complex issues escalated by the SaaS Operations group to ensure their timely resolution;
  • Design and develop a unified orchestration solution to enable efficient deployment and management of our SaaS offering at scale.
  • Integrate hardware automation to the software orchestration framework
  • Design solutions that support and enable SaaS Business Continuity and Disaster Recover Plans objectives.
  • Provide timely status updates to Senior Management
  • Work in close collaboration with Kinaxis' R&D group
  • Accountable for ensuring the solutions design of all SaaS platform deployment meets the appropriate security, capacity and availability requirements.
  • Must adhere to all security and confidentiality requests for this position.

Things You Should Have

  • Experience to architect and develop a SaaS deployment platform, including orchestration of large number of components in complex and high velocity environment.
  • Well-versed with modern SaaS technologies such as:  containers, load balancers, database, virtualization, Object storage, operating systems, networking, storage, encryption, configuration management, application and system provisioning.
  • Java programming.
  • Automating the deployment of 3rd party open source applications. Experience at deploying Hadoop and Kafka preferred.
  • System administrator skillet an asset.
  • Experience operating with the ITIL framework, Certification is an asset
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language
  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in IT, including 5 with a SaaS organization
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Java development, including experience developing with the Spring framework
  • Experience with application manufacturing for agile deployment
  • Experience with network technologies (firewall, switches, router)
  • Experience with administrating MS Windows and Linux environment
  • Familiarity with Information Security and Governance industry standards/best practices and relevant regulations (e.g., SSAE16, ISO27000)
  • Must have proven ability to realign technical priorities rapidly to meet evolving business requirements
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
