Responsible for administration and implementation of security documentation, controls, and procedures to safeguard materials, documents, property, and physical assets relating to classified programs. Ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and stated government industrial security requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

The FSO / ISSM will manage and maintain the certification and accreditation process, certifying to the CSA that the AIS to be used for processing classified information includes an AIS security program under RMF compliance that addresses the management, operational, and technical controls in accordance with CSA-provided guidelines.

Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the contractor’s AIS programs. Works in conjunction with the ISSO to ensure patches, updates and audits are performed properly and timely.  Other duties as assigned, to include:

  • Ensure the security and accountability of all government COMSEC (Communication Security) hardware assigned.

  • Administers and provides recommendations to policy and procedures for the management of classified material.

  • Ensures that all such materials are properly marked and secured in accordance with the NISPOM and other applicable regulatory documentation.

  • Evaluates, determines, and maintains accountability on destruction of DOD and internally generated classified material.

  • Works with the Corporate Facility Officer to ensure the Personnel Security Clearance Program is in accordance with the provisions of the NISPOM.

  • Leads security audits, pre-inspections and Industrial security investigations in accordance with the NISPOM requirements.

  • Responsible for compliance to physical security requirements.

  • Process Fingerprints

  • Conduct Weekly Security Briefing to all New employees

  • Conduct Program In-Briefing and out briefings

  • Conduct cleared employees exit interviews

  • Maintains and updates security databases and tracks all site international travel

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent as FSO and/or ISSM

Required Skills

  • Must have an active TOP SECRET US Government Security Clearance

  • Facility Security Officer certification through CDSE

  • Proficient in standard security applications, to include JPAS, SWFT, DISS, OBMS

  • CEH or similar certifications and experience with RMF

  • Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.

Must be able to lift and move computing and communications equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.

Shift Requirements: 

Some after hours /weekend work may be necessary to support priority time sensitive initiatives or computer security incident response activities.
